The choice of doctors is the responsibility of the resident. There is one surgery in the village and another quite nearby. The House Manager will provide information on request. The Management The House Manager is responsible through the Chairman to the Board of Abbeyfield Great Missenden. Residents Security and Welfare In addition to a resident House Manager, an electronic Monitoring system has been installed to give additional comfort and security to the residents. Visitors Visiting is unrestricted. Maintenance Abbeyfield Great Missenden employ staff or use volunteers to assist with the small jobs that are required. No additions or alterations may be made to a bedsit without permission of the Management Committee. Finance Fees are revised annually. These are payable monthly in advance. Heating & Lighting All the accommodation is centrally heated. The cost for heating and light is included in the monthly fee. Insurance The basic contents of each residents room is covered up to £2000 through the monthly charge. All the personal items of each resident, such as jewellery and cash, must be insured by the resident. Security The House has a door entry system that links callers with the residents bedsit. The rear garden is secured at all times. Cleaning Each resident is responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of their rooms. En-suite facilities, toilets and washbasins are the responsibility of management. Fire
Precautions There are smoke detectors throughout the house. Fire bells and equipment are tested and serviced regularly. Staff and residents receive training in fire precautions. There are four fire drills per annum. Smoking Smoking is not permitted in any room in the house.
