How to Become a Resident at Abbeyfield Great Missenden

A Resident RelaxingMany of our fifteen residents were originally from the area; but more of our residents have decided on Abbeyfield Great Missenden because they wish to be near their friends, relatives and sponsors.

As the average age of our residents is over 90 years old, many have some problems with sight, hearing and mobility. They do not require nursing care, but they may need a carer to help them dress and bathe. Abbeyfield Great Missenden does not provide a carer, but the resident or their sponsors may employ their own.

In the interest of making new residents at home in our Abbeyfield House, we ask the applicant to:

  • visit the house
  • meet the chairman of the House Committee
  • provide a full medical certificate
  • meet as many staff and residents as possible

By doing all of this, the adjustment is so much less traumatic for the new resident.

Charges

The monthly charge provides accommodation, and two meals per day. There is no charge for electricity, gas and water or the cleaning of en-suite and toilet facilities. Each room comes with its own kitchenette where the residents make their own breakfasts and snacks.

Room rates vary from room to room because of the room sizes and facilities do vary.

The room charges from October 2007 are:
