Abbeyfield Great Missenden Facilities

Before entering the house you will see that the house is situated in the centre of Great Missenden, yet surrounded by peaceful grounds and within sight of the Chiltern Hills.
Within a few hundred yards there is the library, a pub, the post office, three banks, a supermarket, a bus stop, a Baptist, and Catholic church, and a mainline station convenient for visits to London and Aylesbury.

The moment you walk through the door of Abbeyfield Great Missenden, you will realise you are in a very special sheltered house.

There is a spacious dining room where two freshly cooked meals are served daily. Beyond the dining room there is a comfortable lounge that is supplied with daily papers, magazines and refreshments in the form of ground coffee and tea for the residents, their friends and their relations.

On entering a resident’s room you will see that each room has its own kitchenette with a small fridge and sink and each resident furnishes their room to meet their own individual needs and tastes. You will also notice the specially fitted bathrooms and showers that are available to all residents that need them.

But what should impress you is the jolly atmosphere of the house. It is enhanced by the lively residents and by the staff.
You will see on the notice boards the variety of activities and outings that take place.
On your visit, please find time to talk to the residents. They can be relied upon to describe how they find life in our Abbeyfield.
Here are quotes from some of the residents:

“ It is a very friendly place to live. We are very comfortable and well fed and it is really good value. What more can I say”
Connie Bevington-resident at Abbeyfield Great Missenden for 6 years.
“ Here I have independence and no worries and burdens compared with my living in my own house. The staff are most helpful and they have excellent cleaners. The food is good too and if there is something I don’t like, they try to give me an alternative.
Mary Young –resident at Abbeyfield Great Missenden for 4 months.
“It is very pleasant living here and the other residents are so friendly and have really made me feel at home. All the staff are very kind and helpful. It is also very reasonable –everything is provided –you only need a few £’s for your own personal items.”
Joyce Bushell-resident of Abbeyfield Great Missenden for 3 months.
